 First, this doesn't appear to happen with ''all'' idle/away users.
 However, if a user this bug affects changes their status from "away" to
 "available" then a crash will no longer occur.  Therefore, status
 definitely factors into the crash.

 Second, this appears to be related to the user's "tooltip".  I can get
 around the crash by using the keyboard, for example, to open an IM window
 to a user from the buddy list; using the keyboard doesn't trigger the user
 information tooltip.  Similarly, once the IM window is open I can hover
 over the user's avatar to initiate the crash (hovering over the user's
 avatar will expose the user's tooltip).
