#6823: Possible to open multiple "Add Account" windows
------------------+---------------------------------------------------------
Reporter: mpt | Type: defect
Status: new | Component: pidgin (gtk)
 Version: 2.4.3 | Keywords:
------------------+---------------------------------------------------------
Pidgin 2.4.3, Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex alpha 3

 1. Launch Pidgin for the first time.

 2. In the "Accounts" window, click "Add".

 3. In the "Accounts" window, click "Add" again.

What happens: You end up with two "Add Account" windows open
 simultaneously.

I think people are much more likely to do this accidentally than
deliberately. And I don't see any realistic benefit from setting up
multiple accounts, or even viewing details of multiple accounts,
 simultaneously.

One way of fixing this would be for the "Add" button to focus the existing
"Add Account" window if one is already open, instead of opening a new one.

Another way of fixing it would be to make the "Add Account" window a
proper modal dialog, such that the main "Accounts" window would no longer
respond to clicks while the "Add Account" window was open.

The latter solution probably would also resolve the layering issue
 [http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/6659#comment:3 mentioned by rlaager in
ticket 6659], which precluded the "Add Account" window being opened
 automatically on first launch.
