 When I opened this bug report I was a KDE 3.5/Pidgin user. I have recently
 tried KDE 4.1 and using Kopete. There is a Pidgin look alike theme for
 Kopete but it has the timestamps so it wastes a lot of space. I have
 created a Kopete theme called SE http://kde-
 look.org/content/show.php?content=87567 which shows you the timestamp in a
 tooltip when you hover over the name. This can be changed to show the
 tooltip when you hover over the actual text.

 It may be of interest to somebody. I believe Kopete use Webkit similar to
 Adium. It would be awesome if Pidgin were to follow the same standard so
 the themes can work across all 3 IM packages.
