 I don't know whether this is a defect or an enhancement request, but
 anyway pidgin behaves in a annoying way (in my special situation).

 I sometimes have an unstable connection in the university. We are loggin
 in via VPN to have internet access. This connection sometimes breakes
 down. Now pidgin says, that the connection has been cancelled. Now I
 reconnect with the VPN and press the reconenct button in pidgin. But it
 seems to me, that pidin has already tried to reconnect, so I have to wait
 until it hase timed out again and then I can press the button.

 So I would like to have pidgin to start a new connection attempt when I
 press the button. It also would be good to have a display "will try to
 reconnect in X seconds" (or just the button Reconnect (5s) ).

 To further improve this, it would be great to be able to set the timeout
 time to a shorter period.
