 In Pidgin I have set my chat foreground colour to blue (#0000FF). If I
 copy a comment of chat with one of my mates and paste it into my box, it
 automatically resets my foreground chat colour to black (#FFFFFF). It does
 the same if copying and pasting text from websites, and emails too. I can
 however copy and paste from the Firefox Address Bar and notepad fine and
 that remains blue, but most other copy and pastes reset the colour
 setting. After which I have to keep resetting the colour to blue which is
 most irritating.

 This appears to happen in all chats. MSN, Google, AIM, Yahoo.

 Please investigate.
