 I compiled Pidgin but did *NOT* install it.  Instead I ran the
 pidgin/pidgin script in order to generate pidgin/.libs/lt-pidgin.  Using
 this binary I discovered a crash and a few assertion failures.  Using
 G_DEBUG=fatal_criticals I was able to flush out the remaining bugs that I
 found.  I understand that not installing Pidgin is the reason these bugs
 occurred.  Attached is a patch generated by mtn diff.

 Note, I only removed the criticals that occurred on Linux.  Windows may
 have other errors that I have not fixed.
