 Doesn't that sounds horribly dangerous to you?

 You can look at the [http://plugins.guifications.org/trac/wiki/PluginPack
 Plugin Pack] for the Slash Exec plugin that does something similar (the
 input is from the user not over the wire, but there are lots of other
 examples that do stuff with inbound messages).

 The API is available via the link in the trac header.
