 As I said MSN (the protocol) does not support "allow buddy list" it only
 supports "allow below" and "block below" that means in pidgin you need to
 choose one of "allow below" or "block below" and make sure the lists are
 correct.

 Technically I think you may need to make sure the lists for both settings
 are correct, but in practice I think that tends not to matter much.

 So to summarize, for MSN you need to select "allow below" and make sure
 that list contains everyone on your buddy list (it should be default).
