 I have found that I only get this problem when I am invisible (I only say
 that since I spend most of my time invisible) however, I will mention that
 even going back to available doesn't update it, only restarting pidgin
 seems to fix it for me.  Since the nature of the problem is to see someone
 online when they aren't its difficult to detect when this occurs without
 messaging everyone.  I've noticed it solely with some people over others,
 however from what i've seen, they all have different IM clients.
