 This is a duplicate to issue #955. The problem occurs still or again for
 me.

 I have a german pidgin client and tried the hint from comment in bug #955:
 Menu Tools ("Werkzeuge" in german) - "Buddy-Alarm". There I was able to
 see a list of alarms with always the same content (one of them with an
 active checkbox all others with inactive checkboxes). I deleted all of
 these entries --> buddy alarm when coming onlnie seems still to be active
 (i checked in buddy context menu).

 The relevant contact is an ICQ-contact. The only account i registered in
 pidgin is an ICQ account.
