#7829: present conversation window option crashes my Pidgin on Linux
------------------+---------------------------------------------------------
Reporter: nipsy | Type: defect
  Status: new | Component: plugins
Version: 2.5.2 | Keywords: message notification crash present conversation window
------------------+---------------------------------------------------------
I'm running Pidgin from the Debian unstable distribution, currently using
version 2.4.3. I was trying to get chat room windows to open while no
open conversation windows existed and I thought the "present conversation
window" of the message notification plugin might be the answer.

However, checking the option and then having someone send a message to
a(n) XMPP persistent chat room simply crashes Pidgin. I'm upgrading to
2.5.2 in Debian experimental to see if that has the same problem. And,
 yes, it dies also.

So related to this bug, should "present conversation window" be the
preferred way of making chat room windows appear if they are currently
closed since Pidgin doesn't seem to be able of doing this any other way
 currently?

Let me know if you need any debugging or traces done on my end to resolve
 this.
