Comment:

 We create RPMs for pidgin only for a small handful of systems that do not
 do so themselves and only because one of us has the machines and the time
 to do so. Distribution of software for a given distribution is best left
 up to that distribution, as such you should contact your distribution for
 updated pidgin RPMs that can be installed with your normal package
 management tool.
