 I like to add my own accounts to my buddy list in a group called "Meta"
 (to see my own per-network status).

 This works fine with ICQ.[[BR]]
 However, my Jabber user does not seem to retain those settings; after
 logging in, <me>@Jabber.org/home is always displayed in the "XMPP" group,
 with no custom alias.
 If I rename the user and move it to a different group, those are reset on
 the next login.

 This happens with Pidgin 2.5.2 on Ubuntu 8.10.
 Interestingly, on Ubuntu 8.04 at least the Jabber account's custom alias
 was retained.
