 Ok, release 2.5.3 is out and I've tried it.

 I'm now still getting the prompt for "is on local list but not on server
 list"... if I say yes, they're added and they show online, and all works
 well.

 To clean things up, I went into hotmail contacts and merged a few
 duplicates, but the same thing happens again whenever I sign back in :(

 I'm hitting alt-F4 on each popup as I don't want to lose these contacts
 off my list, and adding them makes Pidgin crash.

 Further to this, if I hit Yes too quickly on the 25 odd windows I get
 popup now, Pidgin crashes :(

 Also, when I exit the client it will crash as well.
