Comment:

 Many of the items in the Buddies menu come with default shortcut keys,
 those that don't can have them added if a user wants them to (as the
 [wiki:"Using Pidgin#HowdoIbindkeystrokestomenuitems" FAQ] indicates). I'm
 unsure what adding a toolbar would gain over the existing availability of
 the menu items (with the, to the best of my knowledge, rare exceptions of
 people who routinely/compulsively toggle the settings).

 As such, this request is best implemented as a plugin. Currently we as
 Pidgin developers are not interested in implementing it. This ticket
 remains open as an invitation for someone to write a plugin fulfilling the
 request.
