Comment:

 This request is best implemented as a plugin.  Currently we as Pidgin
 developers are not interested in implementing it.  This ticket remains
 open as an invitation for someone to write a plugin fulfilling the
 request.

 The [wiki:ThirdPartyPlugins#SecurityandPrivacy Security and Privacy]
 section of the Third Party Plugins page has plugins which may be of help.
