 If I do the following (disable yahoo, enable my msn account), problem goes
 away:

 - in pidgin, disable yahoo account, enable msn account
 - exit
 - delete blist.xml file
 - start pigdin
 - exit, verify new blist is written with msn contact
 - start pigdin,

 Problem goes away. My guess is something about the yahoo contact list (one
 group name is in Chinese) confuses pidgin.
