 I don't see it in 'ps aux' either, but then again, I don't know anything
 about that command. I'm quite new to Linux :-)

 If you are running Gnome, your "tray" is a process named notification-
 area-applet. You can see it in System Monitor. "notification-ar" just
 happens to be the first 15 characters, which is what pgrep needs to find.
