 If it's a Gnome problem, why all the other programs (like rhythmbox for
 example) do work? Halas, I'm not good enough at this to know where it come
 from :/

 You're right... It was because I launched Pidgin manually that it worked
 on the second launch. I tested it too quickly, sorry.
 I'll retry with all the "notification-area-applet" stuff.
