 I just upgraded my pidgin from 1.5.1 to the latest version 2.3.1.  The
 earlier version was working great, but wanted to get any new fixes.  Now
 my accounts show the person typing, but not text is displayed.  I can send
 and they see it, but I don't ever see what they type.

 pidgin -d for the send/receive is shown below.  I'm on CentOS 4.6.  Will
 be returning to 1.5 for now since it becomes unusable.
