 i just wanted to say that it's a real pity. i've heard about this
 happening to people before. generally i like pidgin but it's been crashing
 unexpectedly and when i restart it asks every time about people on the
 local list vs. the server. just today we had our internet connection come
 back up after about 24 hours and when i logged in it did the same thing
 but with about 30 requests. i guess, stupidly, i closed pidgin and when i
 restarted it asked about contacts for 3 of my clients but completely
 erased all my AIM contacts. thanks.

 i won't be using pidgin again.
