It would be nice if the login dialog did not just pop up out of nowhere.
Right now, I have pidgin on the right side of my screen. I don't save my
passwords, so each time I run pidgin, I get dialog boxes that pop up on
the upper LEFT of the screen asking for passwords.
I would propose such login dialogs be a part of the main pidgin window.
You already have the in contact list options when a connection fails
(disable accout, reeable, modify account). Why not do a similar kind of
in contact list dialog with the login box. So when pigin needs a
password, it slide it onto the contact list.
alternatively, a more radical change would be to introduce an accounts tab
to the main window. The first tab would be an account page. The second
tab would be the main contact list page.
The account page would list the status of each account as well as all the
fields for logon (user/password/server...). Enable/disable account could
be moved here too. Heck you could move all the stuff from the main menu
account config here. Just a thought.
Any thoughts? I personally find pop up dialogs quite distracting and
would prefer either of these approaches.
