 There may actually be no problems with using the newer client id, there
 aren't any specific problems that I know of (or I would have listed them),
 however, this is the type of thing that we need to be cautious about.

 If it gets tested adequately and we don't see any problems, I don't see
 anything wrong with giving it a try.
