Comment:

 There isn't a whole lot I can do here except suggest that something is
 messed up on your system.

 It isn't anything pidgin related that is crashing, but `collect2.exe`
 (which is part of gcc).

 The only suggestion that I can make is to reinstall gcc and binutils from
 the mingw website.

 You also never posted the output of `gcc --version` (`which gcc` might
 also be useful).
