 i just tested your patch(second) and isn't working very well.
 is working to send a file, the file appear well in the window but when the
 person accepts it pidgin is crushing. when the person send me a file the
 dialog to accept the file is working and the file size is showed well but
 when i accept it nothing happens, is showing that i never accepted and
 wait to accept it. if you want more details please tell me what to do.
 another thing that i should mention is that i`m behind NAT
