 In Windows XP - if i click add new buddy then type in a ScreenName and
 then give them an Alias that I've already used in my buddy list before,
 pidgin doesn't ask me if I would like to merge these two contacts, but
 after it adds the new contact to the buddy list I can re-alias the new
 contact in the buddy list and then it tells me I have 2 buddies with the
 same Alias in my list and asks me if i want to merge them.

 I believe Pidgin should recognize the 2 similar alias's the first time I
 add the new contact rather than making me go through the buddy list to
 find the new one I just added and change the alias to what I already have
 it set as for Pidgin to recognize that there are more than one of the
 same..
