 If you Right-Click and "Paste as Plain Text" does it work?

 Vim is pasting the contents of the Plain Text clipboard and Pidgin will
 use the html clipboard contents (if available).

 I can't tell based on this if this is a bug in Pidgin (getting the value
 out of the html clipboard incorrectly), or Safari is improperly populating
 the URL into the html clipboard. What happens when you paste into an
 application that accepts html (e.g. MS Word or Open Office).?
