Comment:

 Forgive my unfamiliarity, but I would hope that the passwords aren't
 logged by Pidgin.  I'm not so worried about the conversations being logged
 especially since we won't likely use the communication encryption

 We just don't want to have our passwords lying around in plaintext
 especially since we work in an environment where computers are shared
 between many people.

 Personally, I never save a password when prompted regardless of whether or
 not it is stored encrypted
