 I am experiencing this exact problem on a newly installed WinXP SP2
 system. Only applications installed besides Pidgin are Panda Internet
 Security, Firefox and Thunderbird. I am using the Logitech mouse software,
 SetPoint v4.24. I'd run into the problem before, but assumed it was the
 result of three years' worth of accumulated junk on my old XP system. This
 is not the case, though, as this is now a freshly-installed system. Any
 ideas? It's pretty maddening.
