 As described in the [https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash ubuntu
 wiki] you need to add some new repository sources to be able to install
 the appropriate `*-dbgsym` packages.  Once you have the
 `libpurple0-dbgsym` package installed, your backtrace should be better.
