 Nice, it does fix IM'ing 6221, TOM, and tom -- all now behave the same. I
 made some minor changes to your patch:

  * If the account does not exist or is not connected, names can still be
 normalized unless they are user IDs (then a connection is required).
  * Store the return value from `msim_uid2username_from_blist` in
 `username`, and do not free it because it is a static string.
  * Fix conversion warning on line that calls
 `msim_uid2username_from_blist` by making username a `const` char *.
