Comment:

 I'm not sure what nautilus-sendto does, but there are a variety of signals
 in libpurple. Just grep for `purple_signal_register` and you will see a
 ton of them. In fact, I see a "buddy-signed-on" and "buddy-signed-off",
 which is probably sufficient for what you are doing. Unfortunately, I
 think the documentation may be a bit lacking in this regard (at least,
 that was my impression from a quick search through online doxygen.)
