 When I am offline, or logged in to my AIM and GMail accounts through
 another client like iChat, I still am shown as being online with an
 available message from a few days ago. If I log in to pidgin and change my
 available message, the change appears until I log off, then the old
 message appears again. If I log into iChat and change my message, the
 change is not visible to others.
