 Added code to grow the buffer as needed in revision
 5cfc19787cb16932e5e50c4034a7c46699fe1c51. Tested with Pidgin on Windows,
 signing onto an account with 262 friends. There is a delay as all the
 buddies are updated, but there is no more hang. Have not been able to test
 this change on Adium but I think it should fix the freezes there as well.
