 Evan: Your code makes pidgin ignore the invalid characters (invalid entity
 references, etc.) and continue, correct? If so I believe, according to the
 draft versions of the XMPP RFCs ([http://www.xmpp.org/internet-drafts
 /draft-saintandre-rfc3920bis-06.html#streams-error-conditions-restricted-
 xml RFC3920bis-06 Section 5.8.3.17] and [http://www.xmpp.org/internet-
 drafts/draft-saintandre-rfc3920bis-06.html#xml-restrictions RFC3920bis-06
 Section 12.1]), that we should in fact be triggering an unrecoverable
 stream error and disconnecting the account.
