Comment:

 No improvement upon deactivating the nautilus plugin (the evolution plugin
 wasn't activated at all).
 But I tried disabling all plugins (I know, I should have done that before
 writing a bug report) and now it works. Currently I'm trying to find out
 which plugin causes the lockups.
