 I only have this problem on pidgin, but the /who command does not work,
 nor are the people in the channel listed on the side panel like they used
 to. The side panel is completely gone. This has been going on for maybe a
 month or more, and I decided to update pidgin to see if that would help,
 but it did not. There is no way for me to tell who is in the channel that
 I am in, other than seeing if they chat.
