 After starting pidgin today I cannot connect to ANY accounts. All accounts
 are type/protocol UNKNOWN and accounts.xml hold values of prpl-irc, prpl-
 xmmp, etc...

 when attempting to modify account (Account -> Manage) I cannot select a
 Protocol and when attempting to save pidgin crashes. I have attached the
 crash dump which I can reproduce at any time.
