 There are no languages that don't fit into utf8.
 Everything internal to pidgin works in utf8, so any plugins need to be
 encoding text correctly before passing it to pidgin.

 I suppose if someone wanted to supply a patch that improved the behavior
 when the file is corrupted, it would be considered.
