 Accounts->Manage->Add + set Protocol XMPP

 There should be a 'default Handle' option that is inherited by default
 when joining an XMPP chat room.  Currently when joining a new chat the
 handle defaults to the username (in 2.4.2)

 It is possible that the 'Local alias' is supposed to do this.  If so, it
 doesn't, and this is a bug
