Comment:

 That's what I would like it to do but that is not what it currently does.
 When "Sounds when conversation has focus" is checked, it only plays sounds
 when in focus.  When "Sounds when conversation has focus" is not checked,
 it plays sounds all the time.  Neither option suppresses sounds when in
 focus.
