Comment:

 The Local alias in pidgin is exactly that, local, it will not show up to
 anyone anywhere else. So the fact that other chat room participants do not
 see it is not a bug. The fact that you do not see your own local alias is
 likely a bug. Is this still happening? (Sorry for the delay, I missed this
 ticket somehow.)
