 Tested patch by connecting to an OS X iChatServer (Jabberd Version 1.4.3.1
 Build 35) from Ubuntu 8.04 with "Force old (port 5223) SSL" option
 enabled, and it seems to work just fine (logged in, sent a few messages.)
