 I have recently had trouble with this.
 I changed my password to be 17 chars in length using the options form on
 the hotmail Website.
 I did not notice that the password was truncated and of course saved the
 same one in Pidgin.
 If it is known that MSN truncated passwords greater than 16 chars could
 you please include it in the FAQ section. A more long term solution could
 be to change the MSN protocol to only accept 16 char passwords?
