 In #295, it was asked if this would bring back the default close buttons.
 Here was my response:

 For the record, I'd like to see us use the default close buttons one way
 or another; being an exception to the consistency for very little reason
 is silly. That said, I think our close buttons are less conspicuous than
 the default ones in my theme on Ubuntu (which are orange), but I dislike
 that our close "buttons" are link-like (i.e. they underline) rather than
 buttons.

 So, all in all, I'd like to see the default close buttons be buttons and
 use a multiplication symbols (so they scaled with the font size of the
 text) but still be buttons and then have us use the defaults again.
