 Upon further investigation, it looks like the problem may be with the
 libxml call to xmlParseChunk in jabber_parser_process (parser.c).

 When I replace the "
" string that comes from the server with something
 else, I am able to see the messages I send (with the replacement string,
 of course), and there is no disconnect.
