 Stop me if I'm duplicating, but I didn't see any.

 So I'm running 2.4.2 on Windows XP, and the thing is, no matter what I set
 my status to, within five seconds of changing it, others will see me as
 'Quiet'. On my end everything seems normal. I've not been able to see any
 options relating to this, so, I'm confused.

 So:
 I change my status, and have a gmail webpage opened in the background.
 Pidgin displays a status change, and gmail shows it too.
 Seconds pass, and my status, as shown by gmail, has changed to 'Quiet'.
 Pidgin still displays the changed message.

 This happens every time, with all accounts (jabber, aim, msn)
