 In the hopes that there was a serious request for clarification, the auto-
 resizing was designed *exactly* to handle the usage scenario you describe
 your wife undertaking, that is to always display as much as is reasonably
 possible of the outgoing IM before sending it *without* requiring the user
 to resize the inupt area manually. If your wife does in fact type long IMs
 then she will undoubtedly have seen the input area grow to include the
 extra lines she is typing and will thus have been able to see them to
 proof-read them. Furthermore, a preference has been added to allow people
 to choose what the default size of the input area should be (in lines).
