 I also registered an account here just to add my voice -- and though I'm a
 committed supporter of open-source, I've never needed to to voice
 criticism of a program, nor felt the need to.

 However enthusiastic the developers may be about auto-resizing -- and no
 doubt it's a very clever bit of programming -- it's simply not for
 everyone.  I prefer wheat bread to white, and brunettes to blondes, but
 that doesn't mean I have the moral imperative to eliminate blondes!  Don't
 take it personally, I'm a big fan of your work otherwise.  And I respect
 that this trick must have taken considerable effort, and I'd appreciate
 that if it weren't, y'know, forced on me.

 This compromise of how many lines the auto-resize will permit me to have
 isn't much better, by the way.  Why on earth does it max out at eight
 lines?  Just let us choose between manual and automatic resizing, and let
 go of this grating micromanagement.
