 I've recently upgraded to Pidgin 2.4.2 for Windows XP (SP 2).

 When starting Pidgin, I get the following error:

 The instruction at "0x63a476c0" referenced memory at "0x00000016".  The
 memory could not be "read".

 Click OK to terminate the program, click on cancel to debug.

 Either option terminates the program.

 Sometimes this is replaced with a "Fatal Runtime Error."

 and sometimes it doesn't crash on startup at all.
